David was born and raised in Nova Scotia.  He attended Dalhousie University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology followed by a Masters Degree in Audiology. He started his Audiology practice in 1999 and over the past 21 years he has helped improve the lives of thousands of patients.  

David is married, and he and his wife Ying are the proud parents of two young girls: Malee and Nataya. Outside of the hearing clinic, David loves to spend time with family and friends, especially when it involves camping, fishing, mountain biking and skiing.

Dr. Jamie Coolen

Audiologist

Jamie grew up in the coastal community of Prospect, located just outside of Halifax.  He attended Dalhousie University where he completed his Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science in Audiology.  Jamie has over ten years of experience working locally as a Clinical and Dispensing Audiologist.  In 2012, Jamie published his research on ethical practices in audiology in the Canadian Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. He continued his academic studies and in 2016, Jamie obtained his Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida. 

Jamie is focused on evidence-based practice and family-centered care so that patients are provided the best hearing healthcare possible.  He is currently a member of the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists, and is nationally certified by Speech-Language and Audiology Canada. When Jamie is not at work, you can find him taking photographs, traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Sarah Beaulieu

Sarah grew up in Rothesay, New Brunswick and moved to Nova Scotia when she was a teenager.  She attended Saint Mary's university where she obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree with Honours in Psychology.  Following this, she attended Dalhousie University studying for her Master of Science in Audiology.

Sarah started working as a Communication Disorder Assistant in 2012, with her first job being in a hearing aid clinic.  She fell in love with helping others with their hearing needs and made the decision to work as a private practice Clinical Audiologist after graduating in 2014.  Sarah later worked for Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres where she gained more experience in the area of advanced diagnostic audiology for both pediatric and adult populations.  Sarah is committed to putting her patients' needs first and helping families improve their communication with the gift of better hearing. 

When Sarah is not working, she enjoys yoga, hiking, travelling, gardening, exploring all corners of Nova Scotia, and going to Latin dance events.  

Evan Mahaney

Evan Mahaney

Audiologist

Evan was born and raised in the beautiful Annapolis valley. He studied music at St. Francis Xavier University, and then completed his Master of Science degree in Audiology at Dalhousie University. Evan is a member of the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists, Canadian Academy of Audiology, and Speech-Language & Audiology Canada. As a recent graduate, Evan is well-versed in the latest hearing aid technologies and industry standards of practice. Outside of work, Evan enjoys hiking, cooking, gardening, fitness, and performing all types of music on the saxophone.

Ashley grew up in Halifax, but now calls Enfield home.  She attended Eastern College where she completed a diploma in Health, Wellness and Recreation. Ashley enjoys seeing patients receive improved quality of life, while also providing a pleasant experience from the moment they enter the clinic. 

Ashley is married to Mitch, and they are the proud parents of two busy little boys, Gabel and Hudson. Outside of the hearing clinic Ashley enjoys spending quality time with her boys, taking day trips as a family and getting together with family and friends. 

Christine Walsh

Clinic Administrator

Christine grew up in Fall River, Nova Scotia. She has studied administration and accounting. Christine is a detail-oriented person who enjoys working in a patient-focused clinic.

Christine is married to Matt, and they have four children: Elijah, Joseph, Sarah, and Oliver. Outside of the hearing clinic, Christine can often be found at the beach in the summer, skiing with her family in the winter, or cheering on one of her boys at the soccer field (year round!).
