Scott MacKay
Audiologist
Scott graduated from Dalhousie University in 1980 with a Master’s degree in Audiology. He began his career with the Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres, where he operated a distinctive purple and white 54-foot tractor trailer equipped with a sound booth, elevator, and office space. Every few months, he would disconnect utilities, arrange for transport, and relocate the mobile clinic to another South Shore community. At that time, the only full-time clinic locations were in Halifax and Sydney.
After a few years, satellite clinics were established in various communities, allowing Scott to transition to full-time work in his hometown of Bridgewater.
In 2012, Scott retired from the Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centres and opened his own private clinic, Hearwell Hearing Aid Solutions Inc., guided by the motto: “Better service, better pricing, better hearing.”
Outside of work, Scott has always been active in sports and continues to enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for over 46 years and is the proud father of three children. Today, he has the privilege of working alongside his oldest daughter, Kristen, a licensed Hearing Aid Practitioner at Hearwell Hearing.
