Kegan Stephen
Audiologist
Growing up in Antigonish gave me many opportunities, but like many, I took off for the city after high school. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in Halifax, followed by a Master of Science in Audiology in 2018.
Little did I know that my hometown would call me back—this time through the opportunity to join the team at Highland Hearing Clinic. It’s truly great to be home again and working in such a warm, supportive environment. Most importantly, I’m grateful to be in a place where I can help others and share knowledge about hearing health.
In my downtime, you’ll likely find me out for a walk or lost in a good book.
Niki Parker
Clinic Administrator
I joined the team at Highland Hearing in November, 2021. In 2019, I made the big move from Ontario to beautiful Cape Breton, where I now live with my husband, Scott, and our beloved chihuahua, Sargey. Before joining Highland Hearing, I spent over 20 years supporting individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities in various roles. Transitioning into the hearing healthcare field has been an exciting opportunity to try something new, and I’ve found it incredibly rewarding. I truly love coming to work every day. Helping others brings me joy, and I’m proud to be part of a team that works so collaboratively to provide the best possible experience for every patient who walks through our doors.
When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll likely find me at my easel, working on my next artistic masterpiece. I look forward to welcoming you to Highland Hearing!

Tracy Smith
Audiologist
Originally from Scotland, I’ve spent the past 10 years living and working in Western Canada. My family and I recently made the move to Cape Breton, and I’m thrilled to have joined the warm and welcoming team at Highland Hearing.
I completed my Master of Science in Audiological Rehabilitation at the University of Bristol, UK, in 2014, following more than 25 years of experience as an audiologist within the NHS. I also hold a Diploma in Hearing Therapy (1990), and in 2021, I had the privilege of studying under world-renowned Tinnitus expert Dr. Pawel Jastreboff.
In 2023, I was honoured to receive the Jean Kienapple Award for Clinical Excellence from the Canadian Academy of Audiology—an unexpected but deeply meaningful recognition, especially as it came from both colleagues and patients in Alberta.
My greatest joy in this profession is helping people reconnect with the world through better hearing. Outside of the clinic, you’ll most often find me walking my dogs along the beach.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your hearing journey.
Charlene Kehoe
Audiology Assistant
I first joined Highland Hearing Clinic in 2005 and worked here until I began an extended maternity leave in 2013. I was fortunate to spend those years at home raising my son and caring for my grandson—who, funnily enough, are less than a year apart!
This year, I made the decision to return to the workforce part-time, and there was never any doubt about where I wanted to be. Highland Hearing Clinic has always felt like home. Sheri and the incredible team here have always treated me like family, and I believe that sense of connection is a big part of what makes this clinic so special and successful.
I’m excited to reconnect with familiar faces and to welcome new ones. I truly look forward to seeing you at the clinic!
